The Midrasha is a Beit Midrash for peace, equality, and justice, grounded in the conviction that learning leads to action. Our community, shared learning, and educational programs bridge deep commitment to Jewish tradition with moral and political responsibility, confronting the existential question we were born into: What does it mean to be a Jew in this era and in this land? What does God demand of us?
We root our search for answers in in-depth Torah study, direct engagement with reality, and building genuine relationships with Palestinians.
Twice a year, we launch a new program, bringing together approximately 15 participants aged 21-35 for a three-week intensive journey across the country, followed by three additional weekend retreats.
Alongside a morning seder of Torah learning, the program delves deeply into the Israeli-Palestinian reality, addressing Gaza, the West Bank, Jerusalem, and Zionism and the Nakba. Participants engage directly with personal narratives from Jews and Palestinians, scholars and activists, accompanied by field tours throughout the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and mixed cities within Israel.
The Midrasha is a pillar of the religious left in Israel. Program alumni remain part of an active, year-round community alongside Bnei Avraham activists and diverse partners, forming a welcoming space with equal room for all, regardless of age, background, or prior learning.
